OUR LEADERSHIP
Dwayne Williams II

Dwayne is the founder & CEO of Apex Home Development (AHD) based in Nashville, Tennessee with a focus on affordable multi family development & acquisitions. AHD’s primary goal is to provide a solution to the ongoing affordable housing crisis while offering additional resources and education to its residents that improve upon their upward mobility.
Dwayne believes that developers from underrepresented communities are uniquely equipped to serve the housing needs of those areas. Representation matters and to effectively create change in underserved black & brown communities, it takes individuals who can speak to the specific daily struggles & provide clear and relatable guidance. With this in mind, The long-term goal is to use their expertise and regional influence to impact national housing policy that will increase supply & opportunities.
Dwayne’s connection to Nashville began in 2007 after graduating from Oakwood College in Huntsville & moving to Nashville to work with a Fortune 100 Company. After obtaining his MBA from Middle Tennessee State University, Dwayne started his journey in real estate by building a portfolio in 3 years of over $3M in real estate from owning and renting single-family homes (targeted to those with an AMI of 80% or below) & learning how to preserve capital through creative financial strategies. This experience allowed him to see the value in and dire need for affordable workforce housing.
Currently residing in Murfreesboro with his wife & two kids, he actively engages with the community as a Board Member of Riverside Chapel & FH Jenkins Elementary School. Beyond his role at AHD, Dwayne is an involved entrepreneur. He serves as a member of the Urban League of Middle TN & is a part of their RED Academy. His passion to help solve housing issues within minority communities & foster community development, comes from his desire to create real change and bridge the racial Wealth gap that exists in Nashville and surrounding areas.
